Cim Jubke
No wind today

(English)
The Center for Contemporary Art Karlsruhe is pleased to show new works by Karlsruhe artist Cim Jubke.
Cim Jubke is pleased to show new works at the Center for Contemporay Art Karlsruhe. No wind today Neither we nor Cim Jubke are really clear about what exactly this exhibition wants to tell us.
But do we have to? We do not know.
What we do know is:
lt is one thing above all: an invitation.
An invitation to a friend. An observer. One who is between the worlds. The world of the artist and the world of the one who tries to present just that.
One gets an idea of how Cim Jubke tries with the constellations of pictures to approximate his view of the world, his interest in pictures, not as a linear order, but as a multiplicity of parallel experiences.
A kind of secure uncertainty emanates from the images. A search for an authentic self-expression, which expresses itself from an intensive preoccupation with the surface and color application of the painting in the form of an abstract, monochromatic work (hope this reaches you fine) to the very personal work keep your heart close, keep sorrow away, which is based on an existing painting by l'lis father.
lt is an experimental logging of one's own actions, and so a monochrome surface may be shown here next to a
meticulously painted oil painting, in the style of Fra Angelico's "Annunciation".
A fragile being driven and a certain lack of reference of the shown motives on the pictures is perceptible and does not allow the connections of meaning in an imagined depth "behind" the visible. The picture becomes the medium of the seif -the surface the place of observation.

No Wind today
